Founded in 1990, Paul Mellor and Mark Forant have built Speclines into the premier outdoor lighting agency of New England. “We live our projects” is truly a saying we believe. Our work is our passion and that passion is brought to every project and shared with every collaborator.

With over 60 years of combined experience, Speclines has worked on projects for municipalities, universities, corporations, commercial developments, and transportation agencies. We take an interdisciplinary approach through the blending of design, science and the latest technology to unify form and function resulting in innovative lighting solutions.

  • Mark Forant

    Principal, Founder

    Mark is known for developing unequaled solutions by specializing in architectural applications. Mark’s favorite aspect of the business is the relationships he has developed with clients and manufacturers over the past 30 years in outdoor lighting sales. When Mark breaks away from the office, you can find him spending time with his family or restoring old VW buses and Norton motorcycles in his garage.

  • Paul Mellor

    Principal, Founder

    Paul has proudly served the lighting and electrical communities of New England for over 30 years, specializing in municipal street lighting applications. Paul is a devoted husband and the father of three great children. In his spare time, Paul enjoys a good afternoon on his boat and is rumored to be quite the fisherman.

  • Patrick Trepanowski LC, IES

    Senior Associate, Design + Operations

    Patrick leverages his passions for design, science, and technology to deliver custom outdoor lighting solutions. At Speclines, Patrick believes each project is unique and is committed to using creativity and photometrics analysis to design cost-effective lighting strategies that prioritize pedestrian safety and minimize light pollution. On weekends, Patrick and his wife, along with their dog Wendel, enjoy exploring small towns and great cups of coffee.

  • Jane Slade MID, LC, DLF, IES

    Senior Associate, Specification Sales

    Jane is a recent Richard Kelly Grant recipient for her explorations into the social and emotional impacts of light, through her work in creating lighting fixtures from waste materials in India, and through art installations focused on manipulating emotional experiences with light and color. Jane is a member of the IES Committee for Outdoor Environmental Lighting. She is also an artist utilizing light as a medium, and a yoga instructor in her home city, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

  • Anthony Farnham

    Associate, Quotations

    Anthony enjoys the ever-changing lighting field and variety of projects it creates. His passion for building client relationships, and managing supply chain networks, brings a personable eye for detail to Spec-lines quotation process. When away from his desk Anthony loves the great outdoors and can be found hiking with his wife and son on any given weekend.

  • Laura Cushing

    Project Coordinator

    Laura’s background in construction administration and her dedication to client-centric project management infuses open communication and transparency to each project she coordinates. Outside of the office, Laura enjoys weekend getaways exploring new places and hiking with her husband and their two dogs.

  • Peter Beane

    Northern New England Sales Consultant

    Peter enjoys identifying each client’s unique lighting needs and providing the right solution. His ultimate gratification comes from seeing the finalized installation, and knowing he was able to help a client achieve their lighting goals. Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his family, coaching baseball and basketball and riding his motorcycle.
